What's Bugging You?

I sprawl.  My coaching practice is based out of my home and I literally work in nearly every room of my house with the exception of my children's bedrooms and the bathrooms but, wait,  that's not really true because I read in the bathroom, regularly!  I have some phobia of not having reading materials at all times so I drag them along like a blankie.  

On most days, our Dining Room table is spilling over with my projects, papers, computer cords and other occasional unnamed items belonging to any one of my five children.  

Not today.  

I cleared it yesterday.

And...

Guess what?

I kick up my heels each time I pass by.

Sounds silly but it makes me feel happy to see the table neatly ordained with my porcupine quills, African cloth and candles. 

My energy spirals up which boosts my mood and creativity to boot!  

It's simple.  Most of life's annoyances are.  However, unresolved they gain negative power over us day after week after month.

I'm curious, what's bugging you?

We're two and a half weeks into the new year and you probably started off with a few resolutions that were quickly abandoned.  

Defeat usually sets in week two to three of the new year.

We just don't give ourselves credit for being able to change the little things in life that have the power to spiral us into a tail spin and certainly don't support our best selves.  

Clearing my table wasn't that big of a deal.  It took an hour to put everything away and I'm totally reaping the bennies this morning as I glance into the Dining Room from the Living Room creating a super cool workshop for my Mexican ladies' retreat.   

The first step is to notice what bugs you.  It's information and information is power.  

Where can you address something that frequently bugs you so that you can initiate a significant upward emotional spiral?

My office...much more cluttered than your dining room table. But, I'm going to tackle it - today! Thanks for the inspiration Dana :)

Dita, If just for you, I'm glad I posted three weeks after I wrote this post. I'm also working through a mound of papers on my desk today and I'll be thinking of you! :)
